This intensive class focuses on refining the processes of bowl turning using the push cut. Students will learn to achieve the best cut from the gouge, whether on wet or dry wood. Tool sharpening, wood curing, bowl design, sanding techniques, and cutting logs for bowls will be discussed. Students will turn thin walled wet wood bowls, natural edge bowls, and dry wood bowls or platters from cured blanks. Some bowl turning experience is recommended.

All classes listed are offered at Ashley Harwood’s studio in Charleston, SC. All tools and equipment, safety equipment, materials and lunches are provided. All lathes are full sized. Classes are limited to seven students in order to maximize hands-on instruction. Please sign up as soon as possible - because space is limited, classes do fill up!

Of the registration fee, $400 is non-refundable.
