Learn good technique.

These classes are technique focused classes, rather than project based classes. Although most students leave with finished items, this is not the primary goal. The most important thing is that students leave with an understanding of the lathe and a good set of techniques to continue in their turning practice. Ashley uses the assisted cut method of teaching to help all of her students actually feel how the cuts should work.

All classes listed are offered at Ashley Harwood’s studio in Charleston, SC. All tools and equipment, safety equipment, materials and lunches are provided. All lathes are full-sized. Classes are limited to seven students in order to maximize hands-on instruction. Please sign up as soon as possible - because space is limited, classes do fill up!
